Topweld designs and manufactures stainless steel pressure vessels to AS 1210 at our workshop in Griffith, NSW, and delivers Australia wide. We handle the full scope in house: design, independent design verification, fabrication, testing and the documentation required for plant registration.
Air receivers, blowdown vessels, jacketed process vessels, pressure rated mixing and holding vessels, and custom vessels designed around a specific process duty. Standard materials are 304 and 316L stainless steel, with other grades available on request. Pressure welds are carried out by welders qualified to AS 3992, using TIG and MIG processes matched to the joint and the material.
Some clients come to us with a verified design ready to fabricate. Others come with a duty: a working volume, a pressure, a temperature and a product. We work both ways. Where we carry out the design, the vessel is engineered to AS 1210, independently design verified, and assessed for hazard level under AS 4343, so you know early whether the vessel requires plant registration and what that involves in your state.
Vessels are fabricated entirely in our workshop under controlled conditions, then freighted to site with lifting points, packaging and transport arranged as part of the supply. Topweld is an ASSDA Accredited Fabricator (Emerald Member), an independent recognition of the standard of our stainless steel work.

The word processing vessel is an umbrella term that refers to pressure vessels that facilitate various procedures such as mixing, distilling, chemical reactions, and general material processing. In order to perform these procedures, the pressure vessel must also be fitted with additional components.
Many pressure vessels can regulate their internal temperature, allowing heat to transfer over from one process to another. These vessels are sometimes referred to as heat exchangers, and are often found in food processing and pharmaceutical plants.
Certain types of petrochemicals that are used for various industrial purposes need to be stored in enclosed pressurised tanks because they may react violently when exposed to the pressure and elements found in the surface atmosphere. They are also used to control the water pressure in residential buildings so as to prevent the force of water from damaging faucets and shower heads.
This type of pressure vessel is used primarily to bring liquids like water to boil so the steam can be used for processes like energy generation. Boilers have to be designed to withstand extreme temperatures and force produced by these processes. Because changes in pressure affects the boiling point of liquids, boilers can also be used to vaporise liquids much faster than heat alone.
Chemical reactions can be violent and usually release large amounts of heat into their surroundings. For this reason, they are usually enclosed within pressure vessels designed to withstand high amounts of force and temperature that these processes produce. On the other end of the spectrum, pressure vessels can also introduce heat into a chemical reaction and create an environment that is most suitable for the chemical reaction to occur.
